We work from photographs which we may take ourselves. You’ve got to love a horse and rider who come up to our booth at an outdoor show and pose the day they order the mosaic! This horse is all that: sweet, bright, personality plus… and a fassionable bling brow band to boot.

Special thanks to Joshua Walker, photographer, who generously offered his work as resource for this painting. Our largest oil on porcelain tile, eventers will reccognize Rolex KY. We build up the surface – and all those twigs – with thin washes of mineral pigment, firing each layer to fuse it permanently to the tile. An extreme close-up of the face gives you an idea of the intense painting with tiny brushes that produces such a life-like image. In reality, this painted face measures less than an inch tall!

Spring has us thinking of flowers, Dutch-style! This technique allows us to paint incredible detail: butterfly’s antennae, forget-me-not stamen and a seashell’s pearly glistening; all within a lusterous smooth surface.

Our largest oil on porcelain tile, eventers will reccognize, Olympic equestrian Darren Chiacchia. We build up the surface – and the thousands of tiny water droplets – with thin washes of mineral pigment, firing each layer to fuse it permanently to the tile. An extreme close-up of the face gives you an idea of the intense painting with tiny brushes that produces such a life-like image. An intensity that matches Darren’s as he bites his upper lip in concentration. In reality, this painted face measures just over an inch tall!

UPDATE: Both Josh and Darren stopped by our booth at Rolex and signed the back of this painting, which is cool. Josh explained the ride was at Rocking Horse near Tampa and Darren identified the horse. We’re pleased they both like it so well, thanks guys!
