“This just out…” of the kilnkiln-fired oil on porcelain tile, 16 inches x 12 inches

We’re thrilled with this gorgeous eye (detail shown larger than painting)
These tiles have unusual depth due to the transparency of the medium, also a smooth surface with a buttery sheen. Subtle variations of color and attention to minute detail give these portraits a powerful physical presence. Translucence is achieved through multiple firings at high temperatures.

She told us it is the greatest present she has ever received…. in between tears!!”

Nico, kiln-fired oil on porcelain tile, 16 inches x 12 inches,

Former-Olympian Belinda Nairn of Inspo Farm, Williston FL commissioned this portrait tile of Unico G aka Nico for Christmas as a present for Anna Marek. A detail (below)

Subtle variations of color and attention to minute detail give these portraits a powerful physical presence. Translucence is achieved through multiple firings at high temperatures. Belinda was fascinated to see the beginnings of another painting in-progress, I happened to have photographed Nico’s tile after the first firing in grisaille (below).
